Introduction

This quick guide discusses the Global Height Filter functionality available on the Irisys Vector 4D devices, and how to configure it.

The Global Height Filter provides a configurable height range, with a lower and upper bound limit. Any person measured outside of this range will result in no corresponding target being initialised, and consequently any line crossings made by that person will not result in a count increment. Effectively, people outside of the global height filter range are ignored completely.

In order to access these settings, you must first make an initial connection to the Vector unit; see separate guide: Irisys Vector 4D - Making a Setup Connection

Global Height Filter

Once you are connected to your Vector, the Global Height Filter settings are accessed via the ‘Settings’ tab, then ‘Counting’, then click the ‘Global Height Filter’ button:

The Global Height Filter dialog window will then be displayed. The default values are shown below. In this case everyone who’s height is below 75cm or above 225cm will be ignored:

If you want to only track and count adults above a certain height (or children below a height), configure it here. But, if you want to count adults and children separately, the Global Height Filter should be left at default (or a similar large range) and instead height filtering should be performed on a per (line) register basis. See separate document for details of this.

Saving

Before navigating away from the device, click the ‘Save’ button to complete the configuration.
