Installation
Once you have decided on the best location to install, remember that Vectors weigh approx. 550g so always use appropriate fixings to secure the base plate in place (e.g. suspended ceilings may require special measures to carry the weight).
It is not uncommon to use some kind of weight spreader behind ceiling tiles, for example, in order to ensure that devices cannot fall off.
Always use appropriate hardware for the ceiling type/material.
If the ceiling is too high to mount onto directly, use a pole hanging down, or a bracket fixed to the wall above the door, as appropriate. Suitable brackets/poles should be sourced locally.
The base plate has a number of mounting hole options, but take care not to use the centre holes that the Vector engages with when mounted. The base plate comes with a sticker attached which indicates the holes that can be used.
Take care not to distort the base by over tightening fixings, especially if using an electric screwdriver.
A mounting plate guide is available here, if required.
Once the base plate is in position, slide the Vector onto it, ensuring that the plastic clip clicks in place.
Factory Reset Button
Whilst fixing in place, if the device is powered up, care should be taken to not inadvertently press and hold the factory reset button, doing so will erase any already configured settings. See Factory Reset Button section for more details.
Pressing the button when the Vector is powered off won't do anything.
