Q. Can I run multiple instances of the software on one pc and have each connect to the PLC?

A. Yes, but you must set a unique "outgoing" LAN port for each instance. For a 2 camera system this should not present a problem as a 4 port GigE vision LAN card should be used (1 for each camera and 1 for each Ethernet/IP "server" or "adapter").

A. You can change the serial key to an EIP version. Please contact your local vendor to purchase. A trial key can supplied for testing for 30 days. Please submit a request ticket.

Q. When I try to configure the EIP option in Automation Mode I get the error message "An error occurred during initialization Ethernet/IP stack." How can I fix this?

A. Factory Talk Linx uses port 44818 for communication with the PLC as does the Thermoview software. This is mandatory for both. This means that they both cannot be running on the same pc. FactoryTalk Linx is not be necessary for continuous use. However, if it is a mandatory requirement to support other functions a second pc will be needed You can disable it from starting using
