When calculating the area above a specified temperature, the software does it based on any active probe reaching the specified temperature. In other words, once any probe reached the specified temperature, it will start calculating the area for all the probes individually.

What if you want the area to start calculating when a specific probe reaches the desired temperature?

If the specific probe happens to be the first one to reach the desired temperature, you are in luck and everything will work as needed. But if it is not, this is how you can set it to calculate the area under that probes curve.

Manually Setting the Start Time

You could manually set the start time for the calculation by determining when the specific probe hits the desired temperature and entering it into the Analysis Options pane.

Automatically Setting the Start Time

For better accuracy, it best to use the system to determine the start time. Follow the below procedure to set up the calculation to start when the specific probe is above the desired temperature:

In the below example, the desired outcome is to calculate the area under the curve for the first 30 minutes of probe #1 being over 37.8°C. Pictured here:

The most accurate way of doing this is to use the system to set the starting time by doing the following:

  1. Deactivate the the unwanted probes by click on each or right-clicking on the desired one. In this case #2-4 are deactivated.

  1. You can set the other probes as active and adjust the Oven Start time back to its original position as needed and the area under the curve keeps the proper start point and timeframe by automatically adjusting its start time in relation to the oven start time.
