Type: This is an 'Error' message (Red highlight).

Source: This originates from the Vector device itself.

Symptoms: Device may be operational, but will typically be in a constant watchdog restart state, as the device continually attempts to fix itself by performing reboots.

Cause: This error can occur if the video module on board the Vector has some issue. This could be a genuine hardware failure issue, or an underlying video driver issue.

If the Vector is online and is otherwise operational no video frames will be seen.

It is also possible that a device may have seen this error in the past but has fixed itself following a reboot. This would be a driver issue, but will be logged in the historical list of old errors. In this case there is no issue and the message can be ignored.

Fix: Any device which has the issue present continually will usually be in watchdog reset, but on occasion the watchdog may not reboot the device automatically. In this case, performing a remote reboot may rectify the situation.

A device with this error which is in a constant reboot cycle, may be fixed by performing a full power off and power back on cycle - i.e. not a software reboot.

If a device cannot be fixed by powering off and on again, will be suffering a genuine hardware issue, and will need to be replaced. If the unit is in its warranty period it will usually be replaced free of charge under the terms of the warranty. Contact your Irisys representative or Irisys technical support for more details.
