Time of flight illuminator disabled - accelerometer z-axis threshold breached
Type: This is a 'Warning' message (Orange highlight).
Source: This originates from the Vector itself.
Symptoms: The time of flight illuminator LEDs are required to track and count people, so if they are disabled, then the device will not be operating correctly.
There maybe additional error messages present which will indicator why the illuminator is disabled.
Cause: The Time of Flight illuminator is intended to be disabled when certain events occur. For example, the most common cause is when a device is taken off its mounting plate and placed on a desk facing upwards.
Fix: To fix this issue, look for further information in the diagnostics entries that show why the illuminator has been disabled. In the example below the illuminator has been disabled because of an excessive tilt measured by the accelerometer. The second message indicates a change in the tilt angle which may indicate that the device has been taken off the ceiling or has received a substantial knock which has changed its tilt angle significantly.
Note that if a tilt angle has changed, but is still valid, performing an 'Auto Height' or 'Refresh Tilt' routine will update the stored values and the illuminator will be enabled again. But, if the tilt angle is too excessive - for example the device is on a desk looking up - the illuminator will be correctly disabled, and the device will need to be installed on the ceiling and the configuration confirmed for the illuminator to be enabled and correct functionality resumed.
