"TiltCropped: DepthTracker: tracker running with cropped tilt"

Type: This is a 'Warning' message (Yellow highlight).

Source: This originates from the Vector itself.

Symptoms: This message relates to the installation of the device and specifically the orientation of the device, but is slightly different dependent on the Vector variant that the messages corresponds to.

Cause: This message means that although the device has been installed in its valid mounting height range, its maximum tilt angle (pitched or rolled) has been exceeded and/or has resulted in part of the field of view now being further away than the maximum height:

Vector Counts - It should be noted that Vector Count variants can only be tilted by a maximum of 7.5 degrees in any direction (pitch/roll), an in the vast majority of cases this message will be associated with Vector Counts installed at a bigger angle than this.

Vector Analytics (and SafeCount Vectors) - This message again relates to the installation of the device but is a combination of both the mounting height and the orientation of the device, and means that the combination of height and mounting angle has resulted in the available field of view not being fully usable because the furthest away part of the field of view is too far away.

By going into the 'Counting' setup of the device, it can be seen that the active field of view has indeed been 'clipped':

Fix: This message is a warning type message and as such the device may well be working perfectly fine. It is up to the installer to decide if this issue is affecting performance or not. In the above example, only a very small part of the field of view is cropped and counting works fine in the unaffected part of the field of view and so this can probably be ignored, but it could also be argued that in this example there is no practical reason to tilt the device and this is an installation mistake that needs to be corrected.

If a device is cropped too much then the tilt angle needs to be reduced - mainly Vector Count devices.

After adjusting any part of the physical installation, always remember to click the 'Refresh Tilt' button so that the new Tilt angles are measured and stored. If the device height has also been adjusted, click the 'Auto Detect' button to refresh both the height and angles in one go.

Important: Vector Counts are fixed to a maximum tilt angle of 7.5 degrees, and the mapped video view will not map correctly when tilted at a greater angle, This means that the video view being seen may not reflect the correct view being seen from a Vector Count. Leaving a Vector Count installed with a large tilt is not recommended and counting accuracy could be affected.
