Device Location

When a device connects into Estate Manager it is recommended that a location of the device is set so that it will be displayed on the main map.

Setting a location is not a requirement, but setting a location will allow the map to show the device status too, which is very handy to see not only for each device, but if there is ever a network outage in an area or single end customer, this will be evident and helps with fault finding.

 

To set a location, simply access the relevant device and choose the 'Location' tab:

Note that this setting is stored in Estate Manager, and not on device, so you don't need to switch to Live view to add this information.

You'll see an example location in the Location edit box (the address of the Irisys office in the UK). Simply over type with the address details. Note that the map is operated by Google maps and so any search text that works on you Google maps satnav app in your car, will work here.

Once you've got some results, make sure you click the relevant entry and then click 'Save Changes':

The map will update and show the device in the correct location on the map.
