Adding an Address Book Entry
To configure an address book entry, click the edit button next to the Address Book side bar:
A new installation will have no existing entries so just click the 'Add To Group' button:
Enter the address book name. This is what will be displayed in the Address Book side bar:
Now enter the filters that devices must match in order to be filtered into that group:
You can choose any of the onboard settings that a device nay be configured with, i.e.
- Device ID
- Device Name
- Site ID
- Site Name
- User string
- Serial Number - this will only ever filter individual devices and due to its restrictiveness is not recommended in most applications.
The filtering effectively supports 'wild cards' with the next part of the filtering system. Here you can choose if the chosen field must be configured on device exactly the same as set here, or is simply part of the field - at beginning, at end, or anywhere between (more details on this below):

ou can then enter the relevant device setting required:
In the example above any device configured with a Site ID containing the customer name will be filtered into this group. By configuring an address book using the 'Contains' parameter, this allows for devices configured with a value of "Customer X Northwest" as well as another device configured with the value of "Customer X South" to all be shown in this address book entry.
The new address book entry will then be shown:
