Partners Own Server Installation
Estate Manager is enterprise-level software, designed to scale with the number of devices that are connected to it, the system requirements will not be a one-size-fits-all.
The absolute Minimum spec is as follows:
Processor | Memory | Free HDD Space | |
---|---|---|---|
Windows Server | Four Core, 2.5GHz | 8Gb | 20GB – 50GB |
For larger enterprise estates of many thousands of devices, you will need to think about a much higher spec machine, utilising a server grade processor (e.g. Xeon):
Processor | Memory | Free HDD Space | |
---|---|---|---|
Windows Server | Eight Core, 2.5GHz | 16Gb | 20GB - 50GB |
Estate Manager is a very powerful enterprise level piece of software and has been designed to run on its own dedicated Windows Server hardware only, specifically running Windows Server 2019.
If you are running an older version of Estate Manager on server 2016, or 2012 R2 you must update it to Server 2019 before upgrading Estate Manager. Note that 2012 was never supported.
If utilising the DualView devices remote validation functionality, additional Hard Drive space is required for the downloaded recordings. 200Gb+ just for recordings is recommended.
If utilising your own cloud-based install of Estate Manager, the above specs apply. In order for Irisys to provide support for partner installations of Estate Manager, consideration for remote access should be given. Without remote connection to the actual server running Estate Manager, Irisys will not be able to support it.
Note that partners installing Estate Manager on their own servers or cloud are fully responsible for managing that aspect of the system. Any support request investigated by Irisys which is later deemed to be operating system issue, or something else running on the server, will incur an additional support charge.
Always ensure that the server is fully patched with the latest updates available from Microsoft, before installing Estate Manager. As and when new updates are made available, these too should be installed as soon as possible. Important – a Windows server installation requires ongoing management by dedicated and experienced IT personnel. They are responsible for daily and scheduled Windows updates and maintenance, as well as managing the SQL database itself, including db updates and optimisation, backups and restores. If a partner does not employ such an individual, or are unsure what is involved, they should instead consider the SaaS offering with the management of the server hardware and OS left to Irisys.
