Vector Set-Up Tool (RIFT) Software:

The vast majority of the Vector configuration can be done via the built in web based RIFT version, but a separate exe is available which can be installed onto a modern Windows OS and used as an alternative connection and configuration method.

This is provided primarily to perform firmware updates locally (the web setup cannot perform firmware updates), and to allow non default communications, for example using different network port numbers.

Further details of the RIFT exe version can be found here.

It should be noted that the onboard web based version of RIFT often negates the requirement to install a separate piece of software.

The RIFT exe is required if you want to perform firmware updates on devices as firmware updates are not available n the web version.
The RIFT exe is required if you want to connect to device via a non-standard port number.

If you've never used the RIFT exe before, see the 'Making a Setup Connection' section.
