Introduction

All Irisys devices include a pathmap function which is intended to assist with positioning of virtual count lines and zones so that they are in the optimum position.

To view the pathmap click the right most button out of the six shown in the top right of the Counting tab view. Two further button will appear below it. Click the top 'Show' button:

The pathmap comprises a lot of data so wait a few seconds for the live data to be pulled back from the device.

The path map will be overlaid on top of the Counting tab view within a few seconds:

The pathmap overlay comprises a few different elements.

Firstly the coloured section shows the combined pathways that each target has taken through the field of view. The colours used are blue to red with red being the most traversed path.

It should be pointed out that the pathmap data constantly updates and if some obstacle were introduced into the field of view, the pathmap around that obstacle will get brighter and brighter and the path through that obstancle lighter and lighter as more people walk past.

Essentially it is clearly a requirement for anyone who should be counted actually crosses the line and the pathmap will show that.

It should be pointed out that the pathmap can assist with placement of the lines and/or zones, but it is just one of the mechanisms provided and should be used in conjunction with the video view provided.

It is not possible to export the path map screen. Instead a CTRL-PrtScr key press combination will store the current screen image in your clipboard for pasting into other applications if required.
