Introduction

This section gives a brief introduction to the Counting tab available on the Irisys Vector devices.

The Counting tab provides a single place to configure every aspect of the counting functionality of the Vector device and as such it is extremely important that it is understood and used correctly in order to ensure the Vector works to a high accuracy level.

Because of the large number of features and functionally provided by this tab, it has its own section in the portal.

The Counting tab provides the main view from the device - what the device actually 'sees' - what it has detected; what it is actively tracking; and, ultimately, what it is counting.

The Vector uses Time Of Flight detection, and a video view is overlaid on top of the Time of Flight view so that we can see what the trackable targets being seen actually relate to.

Note that the video view is slightly larger than the active (trackable) Time of Flight field of view.

In most cases people walking through the field of view will be seen on the video view with a corresponding 'target' at that persons feet. In some cases targets corresponding to non-human objects will be shown and you'll be able to adjust the settings provided so that the targets are not initialised and tracked, or are simply ignored.

Installers who are new to the configuration of Vectors should start with the Counting Settings Essentials section.

For more details of the Basic Counting Lines, as provided by default for standard IN and OUT counting, see here. You can also modify the configuration to use a different Count Mode, or use Height Filtering, or Exclude Staff

For other applications and counting functionality, you can go straight to the list of Available Register types.
